Goal Type:

Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

My first race was the Ogden Marathon (2010) where I did the half marathon.  As we were rounding the Pineview Dam my girlfriends and I decided that we would try for the full Ogden Marathon, which we did in 2011.

Striders Half Marathon was my best PR yet.  With the gracious help of Kam, I finished at 1:50.   I am looking forward to the Ogden Marathon next month and want to qualify for Boston.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I hope to run the Boston Marathon in 2013!!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I plan to continue my training as it is the best stress release and I love the social aspect of it...who knows what I will accomplish, the possibilities are endless!

Personal:

I have only been running since the Fall of 2009.  Before I began running, the thought of running a mile was insane talk.  In high school I was the one who would run when the PE teacher could see me and walk when he could not.  I had two girlfriends who were running and because I was missing the social part of life I decided to start running so that I could have at least an hour a day of "girl talk".  On my first run I was having so much fun that I did not realize how far we were running.  It was three miles!  I was so excited that I ran three miles, lol.  Now the bar is higher and it is not just about socializing.  It is also about doing something for ME!  I run to be with my friends, I run for exercise, I run so that I can eat my chocolate and ice cream and not feel guilt, I run so that I can clear my mind and be more patient and calm with my children, and I run to meet new goals which motivate me to get out of bed each morning.
